Neon genesis evangelion is a popular anime series by Hideaki Anno. The anime began being adapted into a manga in February of 1995 by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto. The series is an apocalyptic mecha anime revolving around an organization known as NERV ,as they defeat creatures known as Angels to prevent the end of humanity.

The series has many Judeo-christian symbols from the book of genesis and the biblical apocrypha with in the story. In later episodes it shifts it's focus towards the psychological problems of the main characters ,many show signs of emotional problems and/or mental illness.

Neon Genesis Evangelion made it's first appearance in the series with Super robot wars F. It's movie end of evangelion was first featured in Super robot wars Alpha. It also made appearances in 3rd Super robot wars alpha and Super robot wars MX.

In the game KOF: Maximum impact 2 the character Leon heidern has unlockable costumes based on Asuka's and Rei's plug suits.

There are also many spin off games such as iron maiden ,iron maiden 2nd , Shinji Ikari raising project , Battle Orchestra ,and much more.
